Hello, neighbors!
I just returned from the NETA PBS Conference and the Fred Rogers Institute in Philadelphia, and I’m buzzing with excitement to share some insights! Mr. Rogers’ message that everyone is "special and important" feels more relevant than ever, especially for our little ones.
As we celebrate the final day of Sea Otter Appreciation Week, I want to share a fantastic story: The Selfish Shellfish. This fun tale features a grumpy lobster who thinks all the creatures in his kelp forest are annoying, particularly the lively sea otters. He tries to scare them away, leaving only the tasty sea urchins, which then multiply and start munching on all the kelp!
But guess what? The Selfish Shellfish learns an important lesson: everyone is important, and we all need each... otter!
